The Romanian brand entered the Moldovan market in October 2024, opening its first café in Chisinau.
Currently, the chain in Moldova has six 5 to go cafes and 12 coffee corners operating under the concept “We serve 5 to go coffee with love”, managed directly by master franchisees.
The company plans to open a total of 10 cafes by the end of 2026, doubling the number of coffee shops integrated into the HoReCa business, and forecasts a turnover of €1 million in 2026 in this market.
“We have tested several types of locations in Moldova, from compact spaces with service inside or through a window to larger formats with seating areas adapted to neighborhoods where people meet and socialize, including acquiring existing premises from independent operators, which we renovated and turned into 5 to go cafes. We have already started to integrate into the local landscape and become part of the community by participating in local events. We believe this is an attractive business model that will allow many local entrepreneurs to access 5 to go franchises. At the same time, the distribution company is already up and running and ready to serve at least 20 locations next year,” said Radu Savopol, co-founder of 5 to go.
After Chisinau, 5 to go plans to expand to the main cities of the Republic of Moldova in the near future.
Internationally, 5 to go continues its development in Bulgaria, where it currently owns six cafes in Sofia, Ruse, Varna and Golden Sands. In February 2026, the first cafe was opened in Dublin.
In Romania, the company has surpassed the threshold of 730 open cafes and maintains a growth rate of approximately 100 new outlets per year.
In 2024, turnover exceeded 55 million euros and in 2025 it reached 65 million euros.
For 2026, the goal of 5 to go is to reach the threshold of 800 open cafes, including 25 outlets abroad.
