According to the statistics, the most viewed was the “list of deaths”: the corresponding article on Wikipedia has been viewed more than 647 million times in its history. On the second and third places, with a significant gap, are articles about the United States and Donald Trump – 328 million and 325 million views. In fourth and fifth place are articles about Queen Elizabeth II and India with 253 million and 210 million views, respectively.
Among athletes, soccer players Cristiano Ronaldo (209 million, 6th position in the list) and Lionel Messi (169 million, 11th position) were most searched for. Among artists – American singer Michael Jackson (168 million, 12th position).
In the top ten searches – former U.S. President Barack Obama (200.6 million), American billionaire Ilon Musk (197.5 million), information about World War II (196.1 million) and the United Kingdom. (180.9 million). The second ten are mostly articles about famous personalities.
The top 25 also included Adolf Hitler, Eminem, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Dwayne Johnson, a list of US presidents, Canada, Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury, the Oscar movie awards and a list of the highest-grossing movies, in particular Game of Thrones.
It should be noted that the Wikimedia Foundation – non-profit organization, developing the project of electronic directory “Wikipedia” since 2021. As of 2025, the site was on the 8th place by attendance in the world (according to SimilarWeb). It operates as a free-form online encyclopedia. Its main feature is that any Internet user can create and edit Wikipedia articles. It contains over 61 million articles in 334 languages. More than 2 million pages have been created in Russian. Every day, 33 million unique users from all over the world access Wikipedia.
