The 400 kV Isaccea-Vulcanesti overhead power line has been fully restored after damage caused by Russian drone attacks on energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine. The Moldovan Energy Ministry said on Saturday evening.
“The works were successfully completed today by the Ukrainian side and the line was tested under voltage, confirming its operation in conditions of safety and stability. Thus, the capacity of the interconnection was restored and the reliability of electricity supply was improved,” the ministry said.
Nevertheless, the authorities still urge to continue using electricity sparingly to avoid “high bills and additional burden on the national energy system.”
Recall that the Isaccea-Vulcanesti overhead power line (400 kV) – one of the key elements of Moldova’s energy system and an important link to the European energy network – was shut down. disconnected on the night of March 23-24.
For this reason, on Tuesday, at an extraordinary session of the Parliament, it was introducedен a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Energy Minister Dorin Jungietu said that Moldova would cover the financial costs of the repair works.
