“Cuba wants a deal, and I think we’re either going to make a deal soon or we’re going to do what we have to do,” Trump said in a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One, reuters.com reported.
He emphasized that the US side is now negotiating with Cuba. “But we will deal with Iran first,” the White House head added.
Earlier, Trump had already allowed a “friendly takeover” of Cuba, saying the country was in a deep humanitarian crisis and had no resources to resist. In Washington, Cuba is seen as a threat to US national security, and analysts link Trump’s interest in an operation against Havana with the need to compensate for possible failures in the Iranian direction.
