“If Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz, renouncing threats, within 48 hours of this moment, the United States will strike and destroy their various power plants, starting with the largest!”, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

In response, Hatam al-Anbia, a spokesman for the Iranian military’s central headquarters, pointed out that if the US launched an attack on the country’s energy infrastructure, Tehran would strike “all US energy, information technology and desalination infrastructure” in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz is the main artery for oil and gas supplies from the Middle East. After the beginning of the war between the US and Israel against Iran, the strait was actually blocked, which caused energy prices to skyrocket around the world.
