“The esteemed Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, is a truly strong and influential leader with a proven track record of achieving phenomenal results. He fights tirelessly for and loves his great country and people, just as I love the United States of America. Viktor is working hard to protect Hungary, grow the economy, create jobs, promote trade, fight illegal immigration and enforce law and order! Relations between Hungary and the United States have reached new heights of cooperation and impressive progress under my administration, thanks in large part to Prime Minister Orban. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him so that both of our countries can continue on this tremendous path to success and cooperation. I was proud to support Viktor for re-election in 2022 and I am honored to do so again. Election Day is April 12, 2026. Hungary: go and vote for Viktor Orbán. He is a true friend, fighter and winner and I fully and unconditionally support his re-election as Prime Minister of Hungary – Viktor Orbán will never let the great people of Hungary down. I am with him to the end!”, the American leader wrote on Truth Social.

It should be noted that Viktor Orban has a pro-Russian political stance and is highly critical of Ukraine.

According to Politico, published on March 23, citing informed sources in diplomatic circles, the EU leadership decided to significantly reduce the flow of secret information sent to the Hungarian side. In addition, Hungary was no longer invited to a number of confidential high-level meetings.

The main reason for this decision was the growing distrust of Budapest’s actions against the backdrop of its pro-Russian stance, the publication explains. European officials fear that confidential data shared by Brussels could end up in Moscow’s possession, undermining the security of the entire community.
