Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about it in his Telegram channel. “For the first time in the world we will launch a pilot project to manage traffic of an entire residential neighborhood with the help of artificial intelligence – in Tushino,” RBC quoted the mayor as saying.
This step will be a continuation of the active introduction of artificial intelligence into the urban life of the Russian capital in order to improve infrastructure and increase comfort for citizens, the publication notes with reference to Sobyanin.
In 2026, the city authorities plan to open the first section of the new Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya subway line with five stations – two operating and three new ones: “Zvenigorodskaya”, “Narodnoe Opolchenie” and “Bulvar Generala Karbyshev”. The subway rolling stock will be replenished with 312 new cars “Moscow-2026”, and testing of unmanned trains will continue on the Great Ring Line, said Sobyanin.
The streetcar fleet will be replenished with 50 units of the “Lion-Moscow” model, including 11 unmanned streetcars – in total there will be 15 of them in the city.
“Mosgortrans” will receive more than 400 new electric buses: in total they will become more than 3.3 thousand, thanks to which the share of environmentally friendly transport on the routes will amount to 45%. More than 50 new routes between Moscow and the suburbs will be launched. Payment by biometrics will appear at all MCD stations and in ground transportation, said the mayor.
Finally, a fourth regular route will appear on the Moscow River – “Luzhniki – Kievsky”. And the share of smart traffic lights on the capital’s streets will be brought to 80%, the mayor concluded.
