The City of London is one of the most alluring destinations for business travelers
The rankings were compiled by analyzing data from more than 2,500 Hickory Global Partners consortium members in 74 countries and more than 51,000 partner hotels with corporate bookings worldwide. The ranking of the most expensive cities is based on the average daily rate (ADR), which reflects the level of corporate spending on meetings, seminars and employee accommodation.
Consistent leaders
London tops both rankings, remaining both the most expensive destination for business travelers and the most popular. Paris, France, is the second most expensive and third most popular. And Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), closing the top ten ranking of the most expensive cities, is second only to the British capital in popularity.
Its “chips”
Such destinations as Amsterdam (Netherlands), Singapore and Toronto (Canada) maintain a high ADR, which is due to the high level of economic development. At the same time, they attract business travelers with opportunities to combine business and leisure travel by offering Bleisure travel.
In addition to Toronto, two other Canadian cities – Montreal and Calgary – are also in the ratings, which shows that they find a balance between price and quality of services.
Tokyo (Japan), closing the top three in the rating of the most expensive cities and the fifth most popular, is one of the largest megacities in the world with a huge choice of hotels and conference venues. One of the “Asian tigers” – Singapore, which has an extremely favorable geographical position, is just behind it. Singapore International Airport is one of the largest hubs connecting Europe with Asia and the Pacific.
