The corresponding document on the establishment of the joint-stock company was prepared by the Public Property Agency together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.

According to the draft, the creation of the JSC “International Exchange of Moldova” with the state’s participation in the amount of 20% of the authorized capital in the amount of 1.5 million euros is approved. Bucharest Stock Exchange JSC (26.67%), insurance companies Donaris Vienna insurance group JSC (11.67%) and Grawe Carat Asigurări JSC (10%) will also become co-founders with certain shares in it, commercial banks maib (10%), “Moldindconbank” (6.67%) and “OTP Bank Moldova” (3.33%), non-bank credit organization “MK Kredit Company” Ltd (5%), as well as companies “Premier Energy” JSC (3.33%) and “Moldcell” JSC (3.33%).

The Agency for State Property Management will be the holder of state shares. The Ministry of Finance will allocate to it from the funds foreseen in the state budget for 2025 an amount of 300 thousand euros to make a contribution (20% of the authorized capital of JSC), as well as other contributions to the authorized capital in accordance with the shareholders’ agreement.

Despite the fact that there is a functioning stock exchange in Moldova, there is a risk of suspension of its activity due to non-compliance with capital requirements, the document says. This could lead to negative consequences for the functioning of the capital market, investor confidence and economic stability. In this sense, the state’s participation in the creation of a new stock exchange is a necessary measure to prevent such a situation.

The provisions of the draft on the establishment of the JSC “International Exchange of Moldova” will come into force from the moment of official publication.
