According to Alexei Buzu, acting minister of labor, social protection and family, “all the details will be announced by the new government”. At the same time, according to him, no significant changes in the system and procedure of registration are planned.
“We are now at a stage where all technical aspects have been clarified, and in November we will focus on making sure that everyone who wants to register can register. In December, reimbursements for November will be made. At that time we will also present clearer decisions and information. There is also a budget adjustment process to be done – this will be administered by the new government. It is the government that will present all the details on this issue,” Buzu told Vocea Basarabiei radio.
As for the criteria for selecting the recipients, he said that the authorities will keep the same evaluation mechanism: “We will proceed in the same way as before – we will determine the total household income. This income, which is available to cover energy costs, will be compared to the energy basket, i.e. how much should be spent per month by those living in the household. Depending on this ratio, the degree of energy vulnerability will be determined, and on this basis, the amount of heating compensation will be determined.
As already reported Logos Press, in the coming winter, compensation for heat will be provided in cash, and for electricity consumption – will be reflected directly in the bills of citizens.
According to the ministry, the program to help the population to pay for energy bills during the cold season has become one of the most important initiatives of the ministry. During the 2024-2025 heating season, the support budget amounted to 2.690 billion lei. At the same time, about half of the funds were covered by external resources.
