
The decision was made at the 37th Annual Conference held from June 3 to 5 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The chair of the BSCEE Chairman for a one-year term will be taken by the Deputy Governor of the NBM, Constantin Șchendra.
The Group of Banking Supervisors of Central and South-Eastern Europe (BSCEE) is a network founded in 1991, which unites central banks from 24 countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe. Cooperation and exchange of experience are the main goals of the regional association.
“Membership in this forum offers many advantages, including support for research and educational programs, cooperation in the supervision of national financial systems,” said Vice-Governor Constantin Șchendra on this occasion.
This year’s conference focused on topical topics: cyber risks, digitalization of banks and the use of AI, as well as – the intersection of micro and macro-prudential requirements.
The National Bank also expressed its willingness to host the next annual BSCEE conference in 2026, reaffirming its active role in promoting regional cooperation in banking supervision.
