NBM Vice-Chairman Konstantin Škendrija will take over the chairmanship of the group for this period. The decision to transfer the chairmanship was taken at the 37th Annual Conference of BSCEE, which took place in Ljubljana (Slovenia) from June 3 to 5, 2025.
BSCEE is a regional platform for cooperation between banking supervisory institutions without legal status. The NBM has been a member of this group since June 1996.
NBM’s chairmanship in this group emphasizes the strengthening of its position in the regional and European financial community, as well as Moldova’s commitment to international standards of banking supervision.
“I assume a great responsibility for chairing the BSCEE,” said Constantin Scandrea. – This is a high-level community of 24 supervisors, which over time has become a business space for dialog and mutual learning. In this period, marked by rapid technological transformations, growing cyber risks and constant changes in the financial markets, cooperation between supervisory authorities is crucial”.
NBM’s chairmanship of the BSCEE is part of a broader effort to financially integrate Moldova into the EU, including work on capital liberalization and the implementation of European regulations and requirements. Active engagement in dialog with regional counterparts is expected to provide methodological assistance in prudential regulation of banks and enhance financial stability.
At the same time, the National Bank of Moldova expresses its willingness to host the next annual BSCEE conference in 2026, confirming its active role in facilitating regional dialog and cooperation.
