The funds were received as a gift from the GS Foundation, with support from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany under a cooperation agreement with the Inspectorate General of Police (IGP).
“These resources support the work of police officers where it matters most: in the community, in preventing and fighting crime, in documenting operations, and in strengthening institutional transparency,” said Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin at the handover of the funds.
The Interior Ministry press release emphasizes that the mobile police stations will travel to populated areas, including remote areas, so that people can receive support directly in their neighborhood without having to go to a police station in another locality.
The list of devices received also includes equipment for public information and information analysis, as well as 30 IT stations for processing and analyzing data during criminal investigations.
The transfer of technical means to the ISU of Moldova takes place within the framework of the project “Strengthening the National Police of the Republic of Moldova in Crisis Prevention and Crime Control”, which is implemented with the support of the FRG in order to modernize the National Police, develop public order protection and strengthen institutional and operational capacities.
