The Ministry of Finance has been audited

According to the press service of the SP, the opinion on the consolidated financial statements of the Ministry of Finance is positive, while some inconsistencies were noted.

Thus, the auditors drew attention to the improper reflection in the ministry’s accounting of 2 real estate objects in public ownership, worth 9.1 million lei. As well as the non-compliance with the methodological provisions on recording the results of the revaluation of assets by the Customs Service, which led to the underestimation of the value of assets and income from the revaluation of assets in the amount of 12.5 million lei.

In addition, the auditors found that 44 air conditioners worth almost 1 million lei were mistakenly recorded at the price of the building instead of being properly accounted as fixed assets.

During the audit, it was noted that there is no clear regulatory framework for accounting of confiscated assets, which leads to uneven accounting in the organizations subordinated to the Ministry of Finance. Thus, the State Tax Service keeps only analytical accounting, without actual accounting of goods, despite the fact that their value is more than 41 million lei, while the Customs Service accounts for these goods on off-balance sheet accounting.

Other inconsistencies in the accounting and registration of material assets were also revealed, which were recommended to be eliminated by the relevant services of the Ministry of Finance.
