This was reported by the press service of the Railroad Department. The new center makes it possible to monitor railroad traffic in real time. It provides live video streaming from cameras installed in depots, on locomotives of moving trains, and at other railroad facilities throughout the country.

The project involves the installation of video cameras with thermal sensors, GPS equipment to monitor train movements, and lighting systems at strategic points along railroad routes. It was implemented with the support of the U.S. government through the EXBS program. The EXBS (Export Control and Related Border Security) program is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State to help countries establish and improve export control and border security systems.

Attending the launching ceremony of the center were Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea and Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Moldova Nick Petrovic. He handed over a symbolic control device to Mr. Serghei Cotelnic, General Director of the WDM, thus marking the official transfer of the system to the beneficiary of the project.

According to the company’s press release, the new center will contribute to increasing the level of security and smooth functioning of regional logistics flows.
