Tareq Muhmood appointed as Visa’s regional director

In his new role, Muhmood will be responsible for coordinating operations in more than 86 innovative and growing markets, the company said in a press release. Visa’s operations in the CEMEA region currently serve more than 1,800 customers through 23 local offices.

“I am honored to lead the CEMEA region and continue the remarkable progress made in transforming the future of payments, commerce and remittances in so many dynamic markets,” said Mr. Muhmood upon his appointment. – “I have spent more than a third of my professional career in the region, and I am excited by the exceptional opportunity to expand digital payments to more consumers, merchants and economies

Visa processes payments between consumers, businesses, financial institutions and governments in more than 200 countries and territories.
