According to the company’s press release, the Taco Bell restaurant will open in the food court of the MallDova shopping center in Chisinau in the second quarter of 2026.
The entry into the Moldovan market is part of the group’s regional strategy, which continues to expand in the three markets where it operates – Romania, Italy and the Republic of Moldova. The new opening marks the second market in the region where Sphera will operate the Taco Bell brand, after Romania, where the company has held a franchise since 2017 and has 18 restaurants in 10 cities.
“The expansion of Taco Bell in Moldova is a natural step in our regional development. We are already present here under the KFC brand, we have local teams, we understand the market dynamics and we are building on the experience gained in Romania, where we turned Taco Bell into a brand in demand and relevant,” said Calin Ionescu, CEO of Sphera Franchise Group.
Taco Bell is a large American fast food restaurant chain founded in 1962, specializing in Mexican food (tacos, burritos, nachos). It is part of Yum! Brands Corporation (KFC, Pizza Hut).
The chain has more than 7,000 locations, mostly in the United States, and is represented in dozens of countries around the world.
