
The implementation of the project will require the allocation of additional financial means from the state budget in the amount of almost 16 million lei for 9 months of 2026 for 56 new staff units. In addition, about 5 million lei will be needed to purchase equipment and furniture.
“The elaboration of the draft normative act is conditioned by the large number and complex nature of the strategic directions and reforms for which the State Chancellery is responsible, in the context of priority tasks and actions of national importance related to Moldova’s European integration,” the draft says.
According to former prime minister and MP Ion Cicu, the new specialists will “closely monitor” the spending of the 1.9bn-euro financial assistance from the European Union.
“All these 56 additional employees in the State Chancellery are taken on credit because there is not enough money in the country to maintain this army of bureaucrats,” Chicu said.
As Logos Press previously wrote, for 2026, the state budget for the State Chancellery initially decided to allocate 943.5 million lei from the state budget, which is almost 60 percent more than last year.
