Materials with low environmental impact were used to create the mold. The basis was organic fibers extracted from orange peel. The fabric also includes orange tree pulp and recycled polyester, which increases the durability of the garment.

Ecology with flavor

The initiators were repelled by the idea of creating clothes from environmentally friendly materials. And even when applying soccer player’s numbers and other details on the jerseys, they used paint that does not contain aggressive chemical components.

Also, the clothes were given a natural aroma of orange blossoms, making the experience of perception unforgettable. In order for the fragrance to manifest itself, it is enough to lightly wipe the surface of the jersey.

The creation was not only for aesthetic and commercial purposes, but also to raise people’s awareness of the fundamental role of trees in the urban ecosystem.

The city of Seville, where Betis is based, is full of orange trees. The total number of orange trees within the city exceeds 50,000. They perform an ornamental function and act as natural drainage systems during periods of heavy rainfall.

Best practices

The Betis Club is one of the most vibrant in Europe, which regularly organizes actions aimed at preserving the environment.

A few years ago, the club’s employees switched to electric scooters, and at the Benito Villamarin home stadium, various environmental awareness campaigns are organized among the fans.

In 2020, Betis launched Forever Green, an international sustainability program aimed at promoting the importance of environmental sustainability and reducing carbon footprints.

“Betis became the first soccer club to partner with the United Nations in the Sports for Climate Action program.
