
As the Moldovan government’s Reintegration Bureau notes, the number of beneficiaries more than tripled in 2025, from 3,231 to 10,134.
The main categories of benefits provided in 2025 include: 4,624 monthly childcare allowances (4,149 – up to 2 years, 475 – up to 3 years); 1,891 lump-sum childbirth allowances; 1,169 retirement pensions; 1,155 temporary disability allowances; 514 monthly state benefits for war veterans; 185 maternity allowances, etc.
Thus, the greatest growth was observed in the sphere of family and child protection: the number of lump-sum benefits at the birth of a child and child care benefits for children up to 2 years of age increased almost sevenfold.
“Observance and full fulfillment of social obligations to all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of the place of residence or registration, is a strategic and permanent priority of the national authorities. The state guarantees every citizen the inalienable right to social protection, ensuring free and equal access to basic public services,” reminds the Reintegration Office.
According to the State Register of Population, as of December 31, 2025, 364,885 people live in the settlements on the left bank of Nistru river and in Bender municipality, of whom 356,833 are citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Of these, 298,851 have an identity card for internal use and 337,516 have a Moldovan passport.
