The market value of the 22-year-old footballer, according to Transfermarkt, is € 650 thousand. Colombian journalist Felipe Sierra said that the player was sold to Sheriff for the same amount. The authoritative German service Transfermarkt insists that the Tiraspol side paid €100 thousand less for the newcomer. The difference in data may mean that the Colombian club received a guaranteed payment of €550 thousand, and the remaining €100 thousand will be received in the form of bonuses for the contractual achievements of the player in the new club.

According to the Colombian portal “Futbolete”, the agreement also provides for the payment to the club “Atlético Nacional” 50% of the amount of the deal in the future resale of the player. This clause will allow the participants of the Colombian top league to earn much more in case the forward gets in the sight of a bigger club and will be acquired from Sheriff. The contract is valid for three years.

Asprilla is a pupil of Atlético Nacional, last season he spent on loan at Real Cundinamarca. The footballer played in 48 matches in the second division of the Colombian championship, in which he scored 26 goals and became one of the most prolific scorers in the league. His career also includes an appearance for Club Tauro in Panama’s top league in 2024. He played in one match for Colombia’s U-20 national team, in which he scored a goal in a 4-0 win over the Dominican Republic.

“Sheriff” traditionally conducts the most active transfer campaign among all the clubs of the Moldovan Super League. In mid-January, the club rented Tunisian national team defender Mahmoud Gorbel, whose market value is €550 thousand. Also, midfielder Ze Flores (previous club – CSF Bălți; market value €250 thousand) and goalkeeper Emil Tymbur (“Milsami”; €225 thousand), who joined the team during the pre-season training camp, joined the Tiraspol team as free agents.

The Tiraspol Wasps hold the record for the highest transfer fee in the history of the Moldovan championships. In September last year, Sheriff realized the sale of Nigerian striker Elijah Odede to French Troyes for €3 million.

The Tiraspol club finished the first phase of the Super League 2025/26 in third place, seven points behind Petrocub. “Sheriff” will start the second phase on March 8, when it will play away against CSF Bălți. The team has 11 points from the first phase.
