
According to the order approving the company’s reorganization plan, signed by Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, all necessary legal and accounting procedures for the reorganization, transfer of all assets and personnel changes should be completed by April 2027.
The order provides for the appointment of a professional board of directors, consisting mainly of independent members
The reorganization aims to create a highly efficient management model that meets the requirements of synchronization with the European energy market, thus supporting security of electricity supply, cross-border cooperation in the field of transmission infrastructure and Moldova’s integration into European market mechanisms.
The obligation to unbundle the functions of the transmission system operator is a requirement of both the Third Energy Package of the European Union and the obligation assumed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova upon accession to the Energy Community Treaty.
