According to Lucian Ioan, chairman of the organization, the Union will share the experience that Romania has accumulated both during the period of preparation for accession to the European Union and afterwards.

“We will try to show what was done right and what perhaps should have been done differently. Our goal is to help businesses and investors avoid mistakes that we ourselves went through in Romania,” Ioan said.

According to him, the branch in Moldova will become a key hub and reference point for investors from both countries. Romanian companies will be able to study the Moldovan market and invest in the country’s economy, while Moldovan entrepreneurs will be able to turn to UNPR for support and consultations on the territory of Romania.

“We want to open doors for cooperation, to establish contacts with organizations and companies that influence the development of the business environment in Moldova. We have not come just for formalities and handshakes, we have come to present our business portfolio and opportunities for joint investments,” he emphasized.

Lucian Ion was accompanied in Chisinau by a large Romanian delegation, including the High Representative for International Relations of UNPR, Mr. Ovidiu Dranga.

“This visit represents the beginning of a process of rapprochement between Romanian and Moldovan businesses in order to create multiple ecosystems involving not only companies from the two countries, but also universities and local authorities, without which the success of ambitious economic projects would not be possible,” the former ambassador said.
