Record growth of investments in intangible assets

At the same time, investments in intangible assets increased almost 2 times, amounting to 968.9 million lei, while the growth of investments in tangible assets amounted to 18% – up to 14.4 billion lei, the NBS informs on the results of fixed assets accumulation in January-June.

As compared to the same period of 2024, the volume of investments by type increased in the following tangible assets: residential buildings – by 27.6%, non-residential buildings – by 16.5%, machinery and equipment – by 24.0%, vehicles – by 3.7% and other tangible assets – by 36.6%. However, it should be taken into account that the volume of investments in engineering structures remained at the level of the previous year, the department specifies.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization forecasts a 10% growth in investments in fixed assets at the end of the year, up to MDL 50.2 billion, and a 3% growth in 2026, up to MDL 54.5 billion. The forecast is contained in the updated scenario for the medium-term development of the economy. The baseline scenario envisages a further growth of fixed assets based on 2-2.5% in the next two years (2027-2028).

The more optimistic scenario assumes double-digit growth rates. The ministry hopes that investments in fixed assets in Moldova will increase by 23% to 65.1 billion lei in 2026, by 20% to 80.5 billion lei in 2027 and by 18% to 96.8 billion lei in 2028.
