Donald Trump
The United States, Iran and a group of mediators are discussing the terms of a 45-day truce that could bring the parties closer to the end of hostilities, Axios writes, citing sources. It is noted that this is a “last attempt” to prevent a full-scale escalation in the region.
The interlocutors of the publication specified that the American leader Donald Trump extended the 10-day ultimatum for Iran for another 20 hours.
At the same time, Trump specified that a deal could be concluded as early as Monday – Fox News wrote about it the day before. Otherwise, the US leader threatened to “blow everything up and take away the oil”.
A tough ultimatum
As reported by the correspondent of the portal Axios Barak Ravid in the social network X, Trump moved the deadline for Tehran to conclude the deal by an additional 24 hours. This is how the journalist commented on the publication of the American leader, where the date and time were indicated: “Tuesday, 20:00 U.S. East Coast time (03:00 Kishinev time on April 8 – Logos Press note)”.
Recall that the day before, Trump said that Tehran had two days left to open the Strait of Hormuz or make a peace deal with Washington, based on Trump’s earlier ultimatum. He recalled that he had given the Islamic Republic ten days to strike a deal or open the strait to shipping.
Obviously, Trump’s fury over closing the strait has reached a breaking point. The US president also threatened to give the enemy a “Power Plant Day” and a “Bridge Day” if Tehran did not open the strait to shipping.
“On Tuesday, Iran will have both ‘Power Plant Day’ and ‘Bridge Day’ all in one. You’ve never seen anything like this before!!! Open the *** (fucking – Logos Press note) strait, you crazy bastards, or you will live in hell!” he wrote emotionally on his Truth Social network.
