The same rules apply to EU citizens staying in Moldova.
According to the EU Delegation to Moldova, this became possible due to the country’s inclusion in the European Roam Like at Home regime, an important step on the way to integration into the EU Digital Single Market. The corresponding decision was taken by the Council of the European Union on July 25. Earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization noted that Moldova became the first country outside the European Economic Area to gain access to this mechanism.
A similar regime will also apply to Ukraine.
Roaming-at-home rules are already applied in non-EU countries – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. In the UK, telecom operators have voluntarily retained this regime.
