
The data is given today by the National Bureau of Statistics, noting the acceleration of monthly (to February) price growth by 1.3%. Due to regional instability and rising energy prices, analysts assume further acceleration of inflation to 7-10% by the end of the year.
The driver of monthly price rise in March (vs. February) were non-food products (+2.5%), less – food products (+1.0%) and services (+0.2%). On an annualized basis, food inflation continues to lead: average prices for food products increased by 6.3%, for non-food products – by 4.8%, and for services provided to the population – by 6.6%.
Price change for the year
Among food products in annualized terms over the last 12 months, the most notable growth was recorded in the following categories: eggs – by 40.7%, fruit – by 16.5%, vegetables – by 12.2%, bread – by 5.7%, vegetable oil – by 4.8%, meat, meat products and canned food – by 4.2%, milk and dairy products – by 4.1%.
At the same time, compared to the same month last year, sugar prices decreased by about 4.6%.
In the segment of non-food products, average consumer prices increased by about 4.8% compared to March 2025. At the same time, the most significant growth was recorded for fuel and motor fuel – by 11.8% (including diesel fuel – by 31.6% and gasoline – by 13.8%), footwear – by 5.2%, clothing – by 5.0%, construction materials – by 4.2% and medicines – by 3.0%.
In the sphere of services provided to the population, the average consumer prices for the last 12 months increased by 6.6%. The most significant increase compared to March 2025 was recorded in the sphere of water supply and sewerage – by 19.8%, electricity – by 16.4%, passenger transportation – by 9.8%, public catering – by 9.5%.
At the same time, compared to March last year, regulated tariffs for heat supply services decreased by 17.0%, and for natural gas – by 13.9%.
