An initial budget of about 1.8 billion lei is envisaged for national roads this year. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized the need to use modern technologies when carrying out works on the road infrastructure, in order to make them as durable as possible.

“Our country has turned into a construction site, and this is pleasing. We need to continue making good roads, to ensure good access to all settlements and to work actively so that the works move as fast as possible,” Munteanu said at a meeting of the Road Fund Council.

Meanwhile, social networks are actively discussing the critical condition of some road segments after the melting of big snow. The publications are accompanied by photos and videos of problematic places from all corners of the country, including the capital. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development has not yet commented on this wave of criticism.
