This happened despite the fact that Ukraine as a whole reduced fuel imports this month by 25% to 164,000 tons. The decrease in imports in August was due to the fact that the country imported more fuel than needed in July. Then the market was struggling with the consequences of the devastating attack on Ukrtatnafta in mid-June, reports Enkorr, which forced importers to sharply increase supplies from other countries.
Lithuania became the leader in fuel exports to Ukraine in August due to a sharp decline in supplies from Poland, which traditionally tops the TOP of countries where Ukrainian companies purchase fuel and lubricants. Nevertheless, imports from Lithuania, Poland and Greece decreased in August, but supplies from Germany increased by 22% and Moldova quadrupled.
In addition, a sea shipment of fuel from Cyprus in the volume of 6.1 thousand tons arrived in the country.
