As noted in the information message of the Customs Service, during the discussions the parties confirmed the importance of operational cooperation and exchange of information in real time, including by comparing data on vehicles and transit goods, the use of accompanying documents, as well as the activities of joint risk analysis groups at border customs points.
Special attention was paid to the application of coordinated measures to prevent customs fraud and facilitate the movement of goods, including through the joint use of non-destructive testing equipment and the adaptation of control procedures to the dynamics of traffic flows.
At the same time, the authorities analyzed the effectiveness of existing mechanisms, including the prompt exchange of information in the case of VAT refund applications for individuals, as well as the implementation of digitalization projects aimed at optimizing customs procedures.
In this context, the parties discussed the optimal implementation of the measures envisaged in the Joint Action Plan signed by the heads of authorities and valid from April 1 to May 10, 2026, and agreed on concrete actions for the immediate period aimed at efficient management of traffic flows, especially in the context of increased cross-border mobility during holidays and summer months.
