Landtag of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgard
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization has announced the start of the drafting of the relevant decree. The draft is undergoing public consultations until March 28.
It is worth noting that Baden-Württemberg is one of the leading economic regions in Europe with a developed industrial sector, well-known global corporations and strong medium-sized businesses. The main sectors are automotive and mechanical engineering, metallurgy, electronics, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
The foundations for the expansion of cooperation between Moldova and the state of Baden-Württemberg were laid in 2024, during a visit to Chisinau by the state’s prime minister, Winfried Kretschmann. At that time, a memorandum was signed between the Moldovan Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Baden-Württemberg.
A joint economic conference was held in 2025, which was a continuation of the dialog between the two sides. Kretschmann said that for Baden-Wuerttemberg, Moldova is becoming increasingly important as a developing economic center in Southeastern Europe. In particular, German companies are interested in IT, green technologies and industrial supply of components.
