The sphere of tourism in Belarus has undergone great changes, which prompted the country’s leadership to give it the status of a separate industry in the government structure, notes the agency BELTA.

A key contribution to this success was made by the country’s capital Minsk, where exports of tourist services grew almost one and a half times last year.

This was told at a press conference by head of the tourism development sector of the International Activity and Tourism Department of the Economy Committee of Minsk City Executive Committee Daria Shibeko.

“Tourist flows to Minsk are growing,” she noted. – We are focused on a successful 2019, but we have already crossed the pre-pandemic barrier. These data are still preliminary, the official statistics will be in early March, but hotel occupancy is already predicted to be over 60%. The export rate of tourist services – over 145% by 2024. Minsk has formed a modern infrastructure of hospitality for individual tourists, groups, participants of forums and competitions”.

In 2025, two objects appeared in the capital: the reconstruction of historical buildings was completed in the Loshitsky estate-park complex. One of them is a hotel with 13 rooms. A five-star Waldorf Astoria hotel with 155 rooms, a restaurant, a spa and parking was opened in the center.

Minsk has 59 hotels and 19 similar accommodation facilities for 13 thousand places, plus thousands of individual ones. Of these, 33 hotels are certified.
