According to the document, the indexation will result in the minimum guaranteed monthly income amounting to 1,869 lei for adults and 1,944 lei for children. The indexation coefficient was set taking into account the inflation rate at the end of the previous year.

It is noted that in 2026, the average number of social assistance beneficiaries is estimated at 16,157 people per month, with an average monthly payment of about 2,400 lei.

According to the legal provisions, the minimum guaranteed monthly income is indexed annually on April 1. The indexation coefficient is equal to the inflation rate at the end of the previous year, expressed through the increase in consumer prices in December of the respective year compared to the same month of the previous year.

As previously reported Logos Press, funds amounting to 580,377.6 thousand lei have been approved for the implementation of the Law on Social Assistance in 2026. Of these, 4,377.6 thousand lei are meant for distribution services, while 576,000.0 thousand lei are meant for the payment of allowances, including the effect of indexation from April 1, 2026.
