Scor.md reported that Pikuschak plans to leave the coaching staff of the reigning Moldovan champions. According to the publication, the initiative to leave belongs to the specialist. The coach may announce his decision before the resumption of the Moldovan soccer championship in spring. The Orhei club will open the second phase of the Super League with a match against Zimbru on March 7.
Igor Picuszczak’s probable decision to terminate his contract with “Milsami” is connected with financial problems. In December, the president of the club Ilan Shor announced that his projects on the territory of the Republic of Moldova will be canceled.
Picuszczak took charge of Milsami in May 2024 and led the club to the championship at the end of the 2024/25 season. Last June, it was announced that his contract was extended for one season, i.e. until the end of May 2026.
The club finished the first phase of the Super League in fourth place, 11 points behind the “winter champion” Petrocub. The second phase of the championship “Milsami” will start with 10 points in the asset (see table). In December 2025 the contracts with the Orhei club expired at the main goalkeeper Emil Tymbur and defender Vyacheslav Posmak.
Since 2010, Milsami has been financed by the former mayor of Orhei. The annual budget is about €500 thousand, which is the fourth in the Super League after Sherif, Zimbru and Petrocub.
From 2005 to 2010 the club was called “Viitorul” and represented the village of Step-Soch, Orhei district. The club is a two-time Moldovan champion (2015, 2025), a two-time Cup winner (2012, 2018), a two-time winner of the country’s Super Cup (2012, 2019) and has participated in the qualifying rounds of European cups (Champions League, Europa League and Conference League).
