MIA «Мгновенные платежи» использует каждый второй

Two years after its launch, the MIA “Instant Payments” system is used by every second Moldovan citizen with a bank account. Data from the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) show that since the launch of the new system and up to now, both the number of its users and the volume of transactions have been growing steadily.

The development of MIA continued with the integration of Payments for Business (P2B) on July 31, 2024 and Payments to Government (P2G) on July 31, 2025. This expansion made financial interactions between citizens, businesses, and government more efficient, transparent, and simple.

From March 2, 2026, the system was expanded to allow instant transfers between legal entities (Business to Business (B2B). This diversified the use of fast payments in the business environment. B2B instant transfers can now be used to pay invoices, advances and other commercial payments, making it easier to manage financial flows. The fee is 0.7% of the transfer amount, but no more than 40 lei per transaction, providing predictability in terms of costs for companies.

In the future, the MIA system will be mutually integrated with other regional instant payment systems in the context of Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and technical interconnection with the European financial ecosystem.
