A draft government decree submitted for public consultation sets out clear requirements for training centers. They must have an efficient administrative structure, facilities for theoretical and practical training, qualified staff and a quality management system. Teachers will be obliged to regularly update training materials.
Strict conditions are stipulated for examiners: they must have professional experience, pedagogical skills, and maintain complete independence when assessing candidates. The document also regulates the conduct of examinations, including the composition of commissions and conditions for practical tests.
At the moment, drivers and assistant drivers are trained at the vocational school in Basarabeasca, which belongs to the State Enterprise “Moldovan Railways”. The training program is not approved by the Ministry of Education and Research, and the training institution itself is not accredited.
