The statistics is as follows: since the beginning of 2025, 1,629 employers have been inspected and 793 of them violate labor legislation by not formalizing labor relations with their employees. In total, there were 3,051 of 18,128 people checked for declaration of labor relations at these enterprises.
In June, the labor inspectorate conducted inspections in 78 more companies, revealing cases of undeclared work in 39 of them. In total, 267 people were found to be working illegally.
“The fight against undeclared employment is a priority for us. In the first six months of this year, we managed to legalize the labor of a record number of people who worked without legal contracts, without paying social contributions and without rights to the occupied workplace. This is more than in the whole of 2024. These results confirm the effectiveness of the initiated reforms and the professionalism of our colleagues from the State Labor Inspectorate. We continue to work in this direction,” said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.
The campaign to monitor illegal employment has been underway since the end of 2023. The inspections are concentrated in areas with a higher risk of non-compliance with labor laws. The main areas for monitoring are trade/HoReCa, construction, services, agriculture, transportation.
