Kazakhstan plans to almost double livestock breeding in five years

In particular, the country’s authorities plan to increase production of meat of all types of farm animals from 1.2 to 1.8 million tons, milk – from 1.4 to 2.1 million tons, as well as an increase in meat exports from 82 to 165 thousand tons, writes zakon.kz.

The Kazakhstani authorities hope to achieve such growth dynamics through preferential lending at 6% per annum for the purchase of breeding animals, preferential financing for the purchase of forage harvesting equipment at 5% per annum, increase in the sowing of fodder crops, introduction of new areas of pastures.

Measures to increase the status, financial motivation and social benefits for shepherds are also envisaged.
