The partnership between Jack Daniel’s and McLaren was announced in 2022, and since then the brands have already unveiled several joint releases, writes RobbReport. The new release is the fourth in the series.
Although the difference in strength is only six points, the manufacturer claims it has a noticeable effect on the flavor profile of the drink. The higher alcohol concentration allows the whisky to reveal a richer texture and brighter spiciness as the drink is less diluted with water.
At the same time, the recipe itself remains classic for Jack Daniel’s whisky:
- 80% corn
- 8% rye
- 12% malted barley
The drink is traditionally produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Before aging, the whiskey undergoes the famous filtration through a thick layer of sugar maple charcoal, a process known as the Lincoln County Process. The spirit is then aged in new charred American oak barrels.
According to the distillery’s description, the 2026 version has a denser flavor with notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted oak, while the aftertaste remains soft and creamy. At the same time, the brand’s characteristic banana note is retained.
The release is timed to coincide with two events at once:
- The 1000th Grand Prix of the McLaren team in Formula1,
- 160th anniversary of Jack Daniel’s whisky production.
The bottle design is made in McLaren’s signature orange and black colors. The label is decorated with tire tracks – a reference to the team’s car and the visual concept of the Formula1 2026 season.
According to Mark Bacon, Senior Vice President of the brand, the two companies are united by the desire to combine tradition, innovation and competitive spirit, and the new limited edition should become a symbol of this partnership.
The whisky will go on sale later this month. Customers will be able to buy 700 ml and 1 liter bottles, and the recommended price will be around $35.
