The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization announced the signing of a corresponding agreement with FLAVOMILL S.R.L., which will build the enterprise. The investment project is expected to be realized by the end of 2025. The state will allocate 9.55 million lei for this purpose, using a mechanism consisting of a grant (2.39 million lei) and tax incentives (7.16 million lei).
The new project will change the wheat processing market in the north of the country by equipping the production with modern equipment and integrating production capacities adapted to both domestic and foreign markets. It will not only support the development of the flour milling business and local farmers, creating a stable demand for local wheat, but will also strengthen the country’s food security.
At least 20 jobs will be created at the production facility. In addition, the company intends to invest in the professional training of young people, developing the technical potential of the food industry in the region. The plant will process wheat purchased from local farmers, contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and related industries such as logistics, transportation and distribution. In addition, the project will have a multiplier effect on the economy, generating tax revenues and attracting additional investment to the region.
So far, 6 agreements have been signed under the state aid mechanism for strategic investments – with IMCOMVIL, FURAJ AXD and GIDO PARK, UNITECH, ELECTROTEHNICA and FLAVOMILL. The total amount of approved costs is more than 678 million lei, while the state’s financial support exceeds 378 million lei. These projects will create at least 489 jobs and will make a significant contribution to the development of the northern region.
