Earlier, with the financial support of the World Bank, within the framework of the project “Higher Education in Moldova”, a web platform was launched to promote the educational offerings of a number of educational institutions in the country, studyin.md.
According to the latest official data, about 6500 foreign students from 50 countries study in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, in the 2025-2026 academic year, the state higher education institutions admitted a record number of foreign students – 1,113 from 24 countries. Most of the new students came from India. This country has the leading position and the greatest potential to attract students to Moldova.
As Logos Press previously reported, more than 1 million euros were allocated for the development of new study programs in English to attract foreign students to Moldova within the framework of a project financed by the World Bank. These funds are aimed at internationalizing curricula, improving the qualifications of teachers and creating modern conditions for the education of foreign students.
