
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first quarter of this year compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, a significant decrease in production (growth) of livestock products (live weight) by 15.1% was recorded in farms of all categories.
African plague has reduced the number of pigs by 18.9% for a short time. Statistics provides data based mainly on agricultural enterprises, whose losses are estimated at more than a quarter of the available livestock.
The reduction in the number of pigs was partially compensated by the growth in the number of cattle, sheep and goats, as well as poultry – by 2.9%, 7.2% and 15.1%, respectively. At the same time, the number of livestock in household farms decreased for all types of animals.
Milk production in the first quarter increased by a symbolic 0.6%, including in agricultural organizations – by 19.7%. At the same time, there was a 4.5% decrease in milk production in household farms.
The total production of eggs increased by 2.9%, due to the growth of their industrial production by 6.9%. In households, on the contrary, there was a decrease in egg production by 6.6%.
