According to the agency, if the supply agreement is concluded, Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Austria and Ukraine could potentially import gas from the United States.

This decision is due to the EU’s decision to completely abandon Russian gas by the end of 2027.

Alexandros Exarchou, director of Atlantic Sea LNG Trade, also noted in an interview with the agency that now is the best time for such an agreement, because after 2030 gas prices may increase significantly.
