Ukraine is working on measures to support businesses due to rising fuel prices
Gasoline will rise in price by 9 bani and will cost 29.85 lei per liter, while diesel fuel will increase in price by 23 bani to 32.42 lei per liter.
Thus, diesel fuel has come close to the historical record set in 2022. At that time, on some days, its price reached 32.24-32.45 lei, which was a historical maximum in the history of independent Moldova.
At that time, the sharp rise in fuel prices led to an increase in prices for passenger transportation and inflation, which in some months reached up to 34%.
By the way, yesterday, the Romanian government decided to reduce excise duty on diesel fuel as part of the first stage of overcoming the energy crisis caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
The country’s Prime Minister Ilie Bolhogan said. “We will first focus on diesel because it is the fuel that has seen the biggest price increase. Diesel accounts for more than 70% of fuel consumption. Step-by-step actions in this area will have an impact on two-thirds of car owners in Romania,” he said in an interview with Digi24 TV channel.
At the same time, the prime minister said that the government has not yet determined how much the excise tax will be reduced, noting that the Finance Ministry “is currently working on the necessary calculations.” Bolhogan stressed that the reduction of excise duties on gasoline is out of the question. In addition, the Romanian Prime Minister announced the creation of a “solidarity fund”, which will be replenished from “part of the excess profits” of the oil market participants. According to the idea of the government, the funds from this fund will help to adjust prices at gas stations for end consumers. The TV channel, citing sources, also reported that during the coalition meeting, which took place in the evening of March 30, the issue of introducing an additional tax for gas station operators was discussed, but such a decision has not yet been made.
Earlier it was reportedEarlier it was reported that Moldovan Energy Minister Dorin Jungietu said that Moldova will not reduce excise taxes on fuel.
