This conclusion was reached by experts of the independent research laboratory Agreelia. In particular, the animals were infected after being bitten by insects brought into the country together with low-quality Ukrainian grain crops, La France Agricole reported.

What veterinarians found in the samples

The laboratory examined samples of Ukrainian cereal crops and corn used as animal feed. The samples were taken from five different batches of products. In all of them, the experts found one or another deviation from the norm. The easiest of them is high humidity, but there are also much more serious problems: mold, mineral contamination, rot infestations. All this created a favorable environment for the development of larvae of pests.

Cow dermatosis has caused an unprecedented crisis in the zootechnical sector of the mentioned region. Farmers are massively protesting against the slaughter of still healthy animals in centers of local spread of the infection.

Earlier, Logos Press reported that the National Food Safety Agency ANSA imposed temporary restrictions on the import of some Ukrainian poultry products to Moldova due to the detection of metronidazole in Ukrainian feed.
