The organized flight to Chisinau was the first flight on which Moldovan tourists were able to leave the UAE.
More than 100 requests for evacuation
The Moldovan Embassy in the UAE received 154 calls from Moldovan compatriots staying in the country. It also recorded 114 requests by e-mail. It is reported that Moldovan citizens sent 110 requests for evacuation.
In Qatar, 22 evacuation requests were recorded. The airport in Doha remains closed. Authorities do not recommend evacuation.
The situation remains difficult in Israel, where the ban on commercial flights continues. Two Moldovan citizens left the country and arrived safely in Bucharest (Romania).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Moldovan citizens staying in these countries to avoid unnecessary travel, to follow the recommendations of local authorities and, if necessary, to contact the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova.
The beginning of a full-scale war against Iran, declared by the United States and Israel on February 28, and the subsequent missile attacks on American military bases, residential and tourist facilities in the Persian Gulf region were the reasons for the cancellation of flights from the countries in the epicenter of the conflict – UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.
