Farmers were given half a billion

Between March 2025 and February 2026 - 358 micro and small farms have availed finance under the Fund for Agricultural Credit (FCA) program. Of these, 40 farms did so in February this year.

Farmers were given half a billion

To date, the total amount of resources re-credited through FCA amounts to MDL 339.65 million. Of these, MDL 35.24 million were financed in February this year. Each loan includes a grant component distributed by type of investment. According to the Ministry of Finance, the total amount of grants is 38.15 million lei. Of these, the contracted grant funds amounted to 5.22 million lei in February 2026.

The grants reach 30% of the project amount

The program covers all regions of the country. Through it, entrepreneurs receive loans in Moldovan lei with a fixed annual rate of 5.1% and maturities of up to 5 years, as well as grants of up to 30% of the financing amount. There is also a possibility to obtain financial guarantees through the ODA fund. Farmers can use it to replenish working capital.

Most of the investments are aimed at infrastructure development and modernization of production, processing and export capacities. This includes vegetable farming, livestock farming, viticulture and modern tillage technologies.

The program of preferential lending is designed for 5 years. It envisages 220.09 million lei for credits and 21.82 million lei for grants for the next period.

The FCA is implemented by the Moldovan government in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Finance and the Office for the Management of Foreign Aid Programs (OGPAE) through participating financial institutions.
