It should be specified that the decision “shall enter into force on the date when the Treaty on Moldova’s accession to the European Union enters into force”, as it is mentioned in the cabinet decision.
According to the approved document, the National Employment Agency is appointed as the EURES coordination center and will ensure cooperation with the European Commission and the EU member states. Its functions will additionally include exchange of information with partners from the EU member states, support for employers from both sides in finding candidates to fill vacancies and meet the needs in human resources.
The main declared objective of EURES is to “facilitate the free movement of labor, provide access to a broad base of job offers and support integration into different European markets.” The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, which promotes this partnership, believes that “with the implementation of the EURES accession regulation, Moldovan citizens will have better conditions for employment in the EU, and Moldovan employers will be able to find qualified labor more easily.
“Preparing for the implementation of this document at the national level will bring us closer to European standards and open new opportunities for our citizens. The EURES network will support both workers who want to work in the EU and employers who are looking for specialists in the countries of the European area,” said Labor and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu.
According to EURES rules, members and partners of the network have the possibility to connect their systems to the technical infrastructure provided by the European Coordination Office. EURES membership implies the right of national offices to charge fees for providing employers and job seekers with post-employment support services, as well as for “intercultural training, language courses and integration support”.
