The book, titled Best Dressed, according to Page Six, contains insights from an even “closer to the action” source and will be expected to reveal even more secrets from the fashion world.
“Fino intends to expose the fashion industry in a novel more explosive than “The Devil Wears Prada”, notes the resource.
The names of the actors in the book have been changed, but “designers and models will not be spared”, the resource notes. For example, the novel describes in detail the scandalous trip Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss to Cuba in 1998 and their meeting with Fidel Castro. Recall, then this visit caused outrage in the U.S., as the country at the time had an embargo on “trade with the enemy”.
Fino is a veteran of the fashion industry. Her background also includes work for Allure and Harper’s Bazaar. She left Vogue in 2011. She plans to publish a novel, Best Dressed, in May.
In 2003, Lauren Weisberger, former personal assistant to Vogue editor Anna Wintour, wrote “The Devil Wears Prada”, a novel about the fashion industry that was made into a movie starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and reinforced the legend of Wintour as a cold-blooded and ruthless executive.
Curiously, the new revelations about Anna Wintour’s time at the helm come shortly after she left her post after 37 years on the job.
