The first phase will run from April 1 to May 18. During this period, parents must submit an application and the necessary documents to the school in their place of residence – within their school district. Children who turn 7 years old before the beginning of the school year are enrolled in this stage.
As early as May 18, the results will be announced and schools will publish information about the number of available places.
The second stage will be held from May 19 to June 10. At this time those who did not have time to do it earlier, as well as parents of children who will turn 7 years old in the period from September 1 to December 31, 2026 will be able to submit documents. Also at this stage it is possible to enroll in schools outside the district – if there are vacant places.
The final lists of first-graders will be published on June 10.
If the child will not be enrolled in any school, parents’ applications will be considered individually at the end of summer – from August 21 to 30.

Also on April 1 will begin the enrollment of children in the first grade for the 2026-2027 school year in the capital. The main department of education, youth and sports of the capital’s mayor’s office is conducting a campaign to inform parents about the rules of enrollment.
According to the former vice-mayor of Chisinau, MP Angela Cutasevici, the enrollment is based on the principle of school districts, depending on the address of the parents or legal representatives. In the “Schools” section, parents can find the educational institution at their address, as well as find out the address of the institution, sector, number of available places, familiarize themselves with the public register and submit an application.
